    43R9250 Ultrabay battery does not fit into a T400?

    Hi all,

    The T400 does support an ultrabay battery, right? Specifically, the Lenovo model 43R9250?

    Because I bought one, but it won't go in all the way. Well actually its a compatible part from eBay, Denaq brand. It gets stuck with about a centimeter to go and won't go any further.... I'm wondering if I have the right model of ultrabay battery or if the T400 even supports it...

    So.... which model is compatible with the T400? Or does the T400 not support any ultrabay battery at all?

    Sorry about my last post, apparently the 43R9250 IS compatible with the T400 but is not listed in the link above. According to the tabook.

    The history here is that 40y6789 was the ultrabay battery for the T6x series. When Lenovo announced the new T400/500 they changed the ultrabay slightly so the adapters and 40y6789 battery for T6X didnt fit the new ultrabay.

    But what Lenovo did do was that when they brought out the new battery for the T400/500 ultrabay 43R9250, they designed it in such a way that it also fitted the old T6x ultrabay. So people who bought an ultrabay battery for their T6x after the summer of 2008 actually in many instances have a battery that they CAN transfer to T400/500.

    There is a lot of confusion also among the Lenovo resellers between these two part numbers. So I think what might have happened is that on ebay the battery you got was advertised (maybe by mistake and not intent) as compatible with 43R9250, when in effect it is compatible with 40y6789.

    As I went from T42 to T500 I don't know from own experience, but I have understood it as that the ultrabay on T6x and T400/500 is the same size but that the contact at the bottom of the bay has changed.

    That's why I thought your description that the battery didn't go in all the way, fitted a hypothesis that it had a T6x only contact.

    Hope this help I've try some of Genuine Battery Bay (40Y6790) which compatible for R/T 61 but no T400 listed. It seem to stuck and I've found that There's a stick on the base cover of T400 that made T61 bay stuck because of a very little different in design.
