I ordered a Y460 unconfigured model from Lenovo direct and after this past weekend I decided to check the status. I assumed 1 to 2 weeks for build and 3-5 days shipping. My status shows expected ship date 3/28/11!! ! Four months to pack a laptop in a box and send it to me. Is this normal. I understand holidays and inclement weather, but that is inexcusable. Anyone else run into this?

you better call lenovo service that don't sound normal... in four months your laptop's market value would have dropped by around 20 to 30 per cent.

I wouldn't put too much faith in Lenovo's estimated ship dates, my Y560 wasn't supposed to even ship until the 3rd of January but instead it was delivered today.

By then the new y460p would be out for a couple of months.......

Give Lenovo a call and just make sure something isn't a miss. Lenovo is known for glitches with prices. Never heard of this before. :p

That’s nuts… Lenovo FAIL. Take a screen shot and post it somewhere so all of us can point and laugh.

Lol, I just got an email that it shipped today. I'd take a screen shot, but the page has already updated. I called and complained about it and cancelled my order, two hours later I got an email from customer service saying that there ship dates on the website were kind of glitchy and they upgraded my shipping to 2 day air. I may get it before christmas! I was going to wait for the sandy bridge version, but I don't think its that big of a difference. I have to say though, I'm very happy with the customer service so far.

Last time I called and canceled my thinkpad shipped that day too.

    Perhaps that's a new ordering tactic :)
