Basically I'm locked out of my older laptop. I've reseated the memory according to other forums but still no go. I just want this security chip to not be an issue any longer so is there anything I can do to get back in?

This machine is out of warranty, sadly enough. It's nearly 3 years old.

Have you already tried contacting Lenovo?

No, it's out of warranty. Well over 2 years now. It worked fine last night but tonight it just started happening and I wish I could disable the security chip somehow because I really don't need it.

I just unplugged it for over 5 min as you said but I still get the 4 cycles of 4 beeps, unfortunately.
