    4 Cell Battery for R61...

    Hi I recently received my 14.1" widescreen R61 with a 6 cell battery that protrudes out at the back. While ordering, i had no idea that the battery would be protruding out in this manner and i don't like it much. Is there anyway that i can ask lenovo to replace my 6 cell battery with a 4 cell one.
    Also, if this is not possible, what would be the best and cheapest place to buy a 4 cell battery as on Lenovo's site it is $119, which seems very exuberant to me.. :confused:

    It gives a better angle for typing. lol.
    a 4 cell batt for 120...wow
    my hp 12 cell is cheaper than that. and thats 3x longer the battery life.
    u can try asking but i dont think so...never know till u try though

    That 4 cell will only give you a little more than 1/2 the life of the 6 cell. If you can take that kind of cut in battery life, go ahead and ask them, I'm sure they wouldn't mind switching batteries with you. Personally, I would stick with the 6 cell. Isn't the point of the laptop to be able to use it on the go?

    Very often, the backpacks designed for 14'' laptops have a tightly fitted sleeve - for instance, my Z60t fits a Lowepro Vertex 200 with a flushed 4-cell battery exclusively.
    I would call Lenovo for replacement possibility and order a 3-cell Ultrabay Battery - they should be more eager to replace in this case ;)
    Your new 6-cell will easily be sold on eBay, I suppose.

    ThinkPad's batteries stick out horizontally - unlike the HP's extra 8- and 12-cell ones.
