3rd gen IPS screen for x230?

Having a problem with my current x230 IPS screen (which I assume is a 1st gen) and after doing some reading around appears there was a 2nd gen and now a 3rd gen.

I believe the 3rd gen FRU for this is 04W3919.

However, after looking around on ebay I see screens with this FRU but then say they aren't IPS. How can they be compatibile with that FRU if they aren't IPS?? Is 04W3919 a manufacturer code, or simply a Lenovo compatability code?

What is the exact manufacturer code which will leave no doubt that I am getting exactly what I am after? I saw in another thread the code LP125WH2 SLB3, is this the exact manufacturer code I want?

To a lesser extent I also saw that apparently there are even better non-Lenovo screens available for x230, if anybody knows these please feel free to say.

and yet it says its TN and not IPS:

Is there seriously no code I can search for guaranteeing its the IPS screen I want?

 

Also just seen somebody say the best screen is LP125WH2(SL)(T2), not LP125WH2(SL)(B3)

 

@oxf77 best screen for X230 is edge-to-edge 13" FHD IPS matte from Dell XPS 13. It requires custom bezel and something else - but looks absolutely fantastic. Search for X320/X330.

 

When you say custom bezel...... just how custom? How does one get a custom bezel?

Do you know the difference between LP125WH2 SLB3 and LP125WH2 SLT1 (T1 has the Lenovo mounts)?

 

@oxf77 there are a few kits made by chinese guys. The one with 13" FHD from XPS13 includes 3d-print bezel, and dp-edp adapter board. They sell ready-made machines at least, maybe sell kits as well - and there definitely was an earlier alternative with some 12.5" FHD screen sold as kit. Here's a reddit about it. I am not familiar with other x220 panel upgrade options.
