Nice OC, quite on par with the 8600GT, the FX 570M is based off the 8600 right?

    This is true.

Nice score. I only got 3526. No biggy though, I can't remember if it was before or after clean install.

Just regular old drivers from Lenovo site. 7.15.11.5655 to be exact! :)

It is most likely a driver issue that my score is lower, I am more curious than anything as I use my desktop for gaming.

I would OC it just to see how the benchmarks are affected.

I think the benchmark result differs a little bit because programs like anti-virus and anti-spyware are running in the background. At least when I did my benchmarking with 3dmark06, I got around 3500 with these programs on, and close to 4000 when I turn off these programs in the taskbar.

rofl got my own threads mixed up heres the link to the thread where i show overclocks. and here is the link for nvidia ntune

You should know though that even though i was able to push my card that much , you have to use old drivers, some of which are pretty unstable. Even after all that overclocking i went back to 163.44 drivers so i could run lost planet properly.
To use the more stable drivers you would have to do a bios flash and thats a whole different process and I still haven't had a chance to do it, but what that allows you to do is overclock the card with older drivers flash your graphics card and then you can use whatever drivers you want and the clock speeds will stay the same as what you flashed them to.

    Hi Guys,

I just ran 3dmark06 on my 14.1 T61p with the 163.44 drivers (no overclock) and got a score of 2345.

Also my WEI is a 4.3 with the Windows Graphics score being the lowest.

Does that sound about right? I just want to make sure I'm not missing something. Thanks!

Hmm...not a clean install, but I have removed most of the bloatware and only have a handful of programs running at startup. Also I have turned off most of the Windows Vista Aero junk.

I do know that the 14.1" should be slower than the 15.4" because of the weaker graphics card (only 128MB memory) though. I was just wondering what an respectable score should be.

Ok, did some searching came up with this link for the MacBook Pro which has the 8600M GT.
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=130879&highlight=128mb+8600gt+vs+256mb

The scores for the 128MB card range from 2500 to 3000. Considering that the specs for my t61p is a bit less than a MacBook Pro I think my results aren't completely out of whack.

I would love to see a comparison chart like that for the T61p though. There seems to be a big gap in performance between the 128MB and 256MB versions on the Macs.

    Edit to Add:
    Also, found this link...
    http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=48123
It appears around 2300 is right on target for the 14.1" version.

it just seems like such a waste to me to pay almost identical price for such lower performance. I only info i had read about the 14.1 was that it was compared to the 8600m gt ddr2, but those scores make more on par with the GS model.

hey guys I'm looking for a stable driver that will allow me to run bioshock maxed with directx10 on. It works fine maxed with directx9 on, but with directx10, it crashes randomly.

Btw, I want to backup my current driver on my laptop just in case. I tried searching online for the stock drivers that came with my t61p with 570m 256mb, but apparently, nvidia doesn't carry any. Also, I can't find them on Lenovo's site, which is where nvidia told me to look because it is special driver for 570m.

    Help?

Lenovos site, pick your operating system, click continue, then click drivers and downloads and then click refine search and scroll down. Use laptopvideo2go.com driver 163.44 for bioshock.

But I've heard that driver 163.44 makes you lose ability to control brightness levels. I've been recommended to use 163.69 also.

So which one? I want a reliable one without any problems. thnx

Just don't uninstall your old drivers. When you install 163.44 make sure you download the modded inf file into the same folder you extract the drivers.

so i just install 163.44 over my current stock driver?

this won't screw up my battery management schemes right? and like decrease battery life if I were instead using my laptop to study wirelessly in the library?

Nope. 163.44 are the drivers I use and they work just fine. If you have the 9cell battery you still get 3h 30min on a full battery with full brightness. So thats how i leave mine anyways.

ok..cuz the problem i had playing in directx10 is that it crashes past the Bioshock letters.

Also, another problem. In directx 9, I can't manually save. That crashes he game also. I have to reach savepoints. wtf?

    Any fix?

No bwhxeon I am not joking, i cannot OC my card. I tried nTune, ATITOOL, (will try RIVAtuner later) nothing. Im running the latest (non beta) driver for the 8000 series. Either I cant OC, or you thought I was joking because you cant OC laptop grahics cards??? Either way, you could atleast tell me "how to OC" or "no you cant oc laptop graphics" and not say such ambiguous stuff like ">.> ur joking right?"...

Ok for the like 100th time and I will update the original post. You can't do a DRIVER ONLY overclock for drivers updated from 06/01/2007 to the present. So you if you want to do a driver overclock you need to use drivers older than 06/01/2007 or you can use your stock drivers.
You can however do a BIOS GPU FLASH to adjust your gpu settings then you can use whatever driver you want. You still wont be able to do a driver only overclock but flashing the bios allows you to change the clock speeds.
Later this week I will make a post and possibly a guide to help clear up the confusion.

I am still unable to OC my T61's Quadro 140m. Im using drivers BEFORE 6-01-2007, and still unable to change my clocks. OR, do I have to use RivaTuner instead of ATITOOL? Either way, Ill still post this, but Ill let you know if anything changes.

BTW, are there any BIOS files I can flash my graphics card to a higher clock rate???

Unfortunatly Lenovo graphics cards are soddered to the mother board and the bios are tied into the system bios. This means that there is no onboard memory chip that stores the GPU bios, so you wont be able to flash them. As far as drivers go I would try these Vista 32bit or Xp 32bit and then download Rivatuner. Don't forget you need the modded inf file in the same folder as the drivers.
