    Hello

I was told by the Lenovo Service & Sales that my laptop [T61- TP 7663-A21] does not support a 320GB HDD so the maximum would be 250GB.

    Is this correct ?

No - It supports as much as a 2.5 can handle.

It supports any 9mm height 2.5" drive. Currently, the highest capacity drive in that form factor is 640GB.

There are 12mm high 2.5" drives for servers, those won't fit.
