Is it possible to remove the optical drive from a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop? There is nothing wrong with my current one (DVD-RAM) but I think it would be cool to replace it with a slot load from NewEgg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827129003
My old dell had a little tab you pushed in that allowed to drive to be hot swapped but I am assuming this would require some dissassembly of the chasis. Has anyone tried this or know how to do it so I can make sure the drive would fit with the proper connector and all?
Thanks

The service manual will explain how to remove the drive. The LG drive in there now is an excellent laptop burner.

I know it is excellent and I have not had the problems of a loud drive as a few others on here have reported. I just wanted to know if I could add a slot load at some point since they are so much easier to deal with, especially on a laptop. Prevents breakge of the tray and stuff like that. I also have a pioneer in my desktop that I have had no problems with.
