I noticed that my new C200 has a 4.8GB Fat32 partition containing the recovery system, there is about 750Mb free.

I was wondering if anyone has created a bootable CD of this partition and reclaimed this almost 5GB of hard drive space.

I burned off the recovery discs and did a clean install of Windows.

Yeah, I am thinking of doing that. Did you run in to any driver issues re-installing Windows?

Also, you say you burned the recovery image. Where you able to make it a bootable image?

I think it would work best if I could make it a bootable DVD. Then just drop it in and go. Has anyone done this?

Just the audio driver. The fix can be found here. Drive must be set to compatibility mode to install Windows. I use Acronis True Imaage. It makes an image of the drive. Works slick.

What do you mean that "drive must be set to compatibility mode to install Windows"?

And did you actually use the recovery CD for anything after your reinstall, or is it only useful if something goes wrong on your fresh install?
