I am considering a T61. I could not for the life of me discern what a T61 "P" was, even though I spent good time on the Lenove web site. What does the P mean?

Also, does anyone know if Lenov0 will have a LED screen on the T61 anytime soon?

And lastly, are all LED screens glossy???

I have been waffling between a T61 14.1 inch and a Dell M1330 LED screen. Cannot seem to make up my mind, but there are some really good deals from a guy on eBay with 3 year FULL Lenovo warranty, and I am not rich yet :)

I really like the "all business" look of the Lenovo. As compared to the Dell M1330 or Mac Book Pro, for instance. Although some bights I get suckered into the "style" thing.

    Thanks for any help,

    Dave

P implies a dedicated graphics option.

I believe there are also configurations of the T61 (non-p) that have dedicated graphics as well. The one I will be ordering is the T61 766416U (and it has nVidia Quadro NVS 140M discrete graphics).

Not exactly. The "p" designates the "performance" workstation class machines. These machines typically have:
    - workstation class dedicated graphics with drivers optimized for CAD rather than games
    - large amounts of graphics memory
    - the highest resolution screens (1920x1200 for the T61p)
    - the fastest harddrives (7200rpm)
    - all the rest of the bells and whistles

There are regular T61 machines with dedicated graphics chipsets also. So you don't have to get a "p" machine to get dedicated graphics.

I thought I had seen some with a Nvidia 140 graphics subset thta I had THOUGHT was discrete. All I want is discrete graphics, it does not have to be CAD or anything like that. Thanks for the further clarification. I no longer want a P, a T61 will be just fine.

I am going to repost my LED question as a separate post.

Whoops, sorry if that was the wrong protocol. I am a bit new here. Dave
