Hi,
I heard from some friends whose t61 came with 3g ram and 1g turbo memory, that the speed of "sleep" or "hibernate" is really fast.
But my t61p with 3g ram without turbo always sleep or hibernate very slow, generally taking more than 50s.
I wonder whether i can get a 2gb intel turbo memory installed into my t61p, and whether it will increase speed.
Thank you

I believe it only comes in 512/1Gb sizes.
And that is a standard response for 2 or more Gb installed ram. -
There is no 2GB part... and fyi, the 1GB part is 2 512MB parts on the same card. You can't dedicate all to either function (ReadyBoost or ReadyDrive)... Bummer.

i have turbo memory and the speed of hibernation/sleep is the same as without

You might want to read more about turbo memory before you even buy it with your configuration. Several problems still exist with it and there is still no significant improvement if you have more than 1gig of ram.
-
those problems you are talking about have been solved by the latest drivers and disabling hybrid hard disc power saving option in vista power management

Your suspend/resume/hibernate time is affected by other things too, specifically your CPU and HDD speed. A T7100 with a 5400RPM drive is going to be slower than a T7700 with a 7200RPM drive. Total amount of RAM installed will factor in as well. With the ICHRP patch, I'd can swipe my fingerprint to unlock almost as fast as I can get the lid open and my finger to the reader -- probably a 2-3 second delay at best waiting for a couple of PnP beeps. Very happy with the resume time.
I have latest drivers and Hybrid Power Savings on for my T61p, Hybrid Power Savings OFF on my X61t. Not having problems on either machine. -
and what about it doing pretty much nothing if you have more than 1 gig of ram?

it still works...i have 3gb of ram...and my commonly used programs such as outlook, FF, etc open up so quick there's no welcome screen...prior to having turbo enabled, the welcome screen stayed up for 1-2 seconds

agree with eyecon82, why are you saying that Robson/ITM doesn't have a benefit beyond 1GB of system RAM? The articles I've read say that 1GB system RAM + 1GB of ITM is 60-80% of the performance of 2GB of system RAM at a considerable cost difference, but that is simply an example and not meant to indicate that is the end of the benefit.
2gb intel turbo memory?
