I'm stuck with a 30" monitor that only has a DVI input. With my last laptop (x201t) I could not find any solution that would allow me to drive this monitor at full resolution (2560x1600) - I had a DisplayPort to DualLink DVI adapter that worked fine with my Dell, but after repeated calls to Lenovo support they finally admitted that the video output on the X201t did not support it.
Now I'm considering a w530 to replace my aging desktop, and I'm still stuck with that monitor. Can anyone verify whether there is a way to drive this monitor with the w530? Does the DVI dock's DVI output work? If not, can it drive a DisplayPort -> DualLink DVI adapter at full resolution?

To my knowledge, the W530 has more than enough power to run your native resolution of 2560x1600 with DVI output via the W530 docking station or via your DisplayPort adapter. I've used the HDMI to DVI adapters before and they also work great.

the docking station DVI ports is a single link DVI port, if you need dual link, then you need to get active dp to dvi dual link converter.
2560x1600 DVI monitor from w530?
