Hi folks - just ordered my Y510p today and was considering upgrading both the 24 msata SSD and the 2.5" drive to Crucial M4's. Do you anticipate any problems? Thanks!

The y510p does not have a msata drive, it has a ngff drive and there currently is no support for ngff drives but there will be in the coming months, as far as the 2.5 inch drive, its your choice on what you want.

So the OS goes on the 24GB and all programs go on the big drive? Does the 5400 rpm drive come with stuff installed on it? It would be nice to just be able to swap the hard drive for the SSD without having to reinstall windows. Should that work?

If its like the Y500 that came with a 16GB SSD, the SSD was used for caching. Everything was installed to the 2.5" drive and then using software, freuently used programs would be cached to the SSD. You didn't have any control over this. It was a little faster then just the 2.5"5400 RPM drive by itself but not as fast as having and SSD as the main drive.
256 gb Crucial M4 msata SSD and 512 GB Crucial M4 SSD y510p
