has anyone used this? more specifically, anyone used this that didn't go to Ohio State?

apparently anyone can become a member of the OSU alumni association [even if you didn't go there] for $55. and that $55 gets you some deep discounts off Lenovo [25-30% from what i've seen]. i also wonder if you are bound by the selection they have on the OSU/Lenovo website...i don't see the t60p, does anyone happen to know whether or not you could call and config the notebook you want and still get the discount?

    Woo hoo, go Bucks :)

Well, I am an alum (and did go there) but I did not use this when buying my T43 because I actually found a better deal elsewhere. Also, you can only buy what shows up there and it tends to be not up to date with current offerings.

ahhh....i knew there was a catch!

its really too bad they do this. i go to berkeley and the lenovo rep told me he couldn't sell directly to me and the computers they offered the school were limited.

sigh, i guess my quest to find a t60p for $2300 or less isn't going very well.
