I just got my X220i today which had a 250gb 5400rpm hard disk. Everytime I boot up this message popped up followed by 'Press Esc to continue'.
When I pressed Esc, however, I was able to boot up and use my computer normally.
Also, I was unable to access bios when I pressed F1/2 during boot.
Can anyone help me out on that?
Thanks!

Sure that wasn't 2010?

yes 10char

2010 usually means your drive is going. I'd run the Lenovo diagnostic on it and if it fails, have Lenovo replace it. Good Luck.

sorry, i meant that it was 2102 NOT 2010.

following the instructions in the x220 hardware maintenance menu, i took out the hard disk and then put it back immediately. however, the error 2102 still persisted.
Can someone help? -
help please? should i send the unit back to lenovo?

Why don't you call Lenovo and see what they have to say. I'm not familiar the 2102 error code.
P.S. - No bumps for 24 hours, per the forum rules. -
I met the same problem as yours a few days ago.
A simple method to resolve it is to diagnose your computer system with Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox. If the resilt is normal, reboot computer.

To access the BIOS for X220i ,press F1 during startup when the ThinkPad logo is displayed.
