I have that sinking feeling in my stomach like I'm pretty screwed here.

I started getting this error on boot with my x220 tablet today. I popped my laptop's drive into my wife's thinkpad and it booted normally.

I only seem to have the option to PXE boot.

    Am I totally screwed?

All I'm saying is don't drop the soap.

Typically, the 2100 error means there's something wrong with the drive, though not always. There can be a problem with the connector/motherboard, which would necessitate a replacement. I would suggest getting anything off the drive you need while it's working in another computer. You might want to update to the latest BIOS and see if there's a firmware upgrade for the drive too.

I've bumped into a very similar problem with several SandForce-based drives, but it was quite intermittent.

Which SSD are we discussing here to begin with?
