Hey guys..how does this work? My wireless card and my embedded security chip do not work in my thinkpad. I've tried everything. I know they have a 21 day return policy from date of invoice. I also know that once they issue the RMA, it is valid for 10 days. So let's say I call in on the 18th day from invoice and get a RMA issued, does that mean I can keep it for another 10 days? or Do i have to make sure it ships out before the 21st day even though I would have 7 more days of a valid RMA? Kinda confused..Thanks

Post more details about them not working. I have a hard time believing they don't work... but maybe you received a lemon.

Call Customer Service if you already haven't.

More details: Error (forgot the number) TMP Security Embedded Chip corrupted due to tampering <-- happens on start up

For wireless, It just does not work. I go into device manager and it doesn't even list a wireless card. I switch it on, the light doesn't go on and both access connection and the vista wireless manager doesnt even give me an option for wireless. I installed the driver manually, but it fails to install saying device not found.

I press Fn+F5 click the option to turn wireless on...nothing happens. Did a full restore of the comp...same dilemma....I then did a full CLEAN install and installed drivers manually and via update manager...same dilemma

I am pretty experienced in computers and I'm not going to deal with tech support with me having the system for 1 full day. I rather not deal with it. If this now...who knows what else is in the future? Perhaps I do have a lemon...I rather just start off with a comp without any problems to begin with

Lenovo support is pretty easy to deal with in my experiences. If you told them what you just posted, they should handle the problem pretty quickly...

I'll give them a try in the morning...if it's a simple fix...then no problem...but if they start having me take my computer apart..its going back to lenovo and im ordering a new one

(and this time I'm going to make sure I use my amex...therefore giving me an extra year of warranty)
