For the most recent 20V power adapters, can you take the removable cord from a 2-prong adapter and use it with one of their 3-prong adapters? Will the plug fit?
It looks like it would, but I haven't been able to test it, and I only have the 2-prong IBM/Lenovo adapters, yet I have a bad feeling I might end up with a 3-prong when I buy a spare..

Not sure what you mean by recent nor how recent is different from non-recent but for a T61 I do it all the time. LO might be wrong.

Though lead_org seems to disagree with what you said. Got an example? -
unless you want to cut the middle part of the figure 8 cable to make it fit, but this sort of modification is not recommended. -

That's what I was asking, the removable cable going INTO the adapter. He understood me just fine.
Thanks lead_org. I think what I'll do is buy 90W adapters. The adapter that came with my docking station is a 2-pin 90W adapters. Perhaps I can swap it with the external battery chargers, and on the happen chance I bring one of them somewhere that has only 2-pin (think cheap extension cord), it'll still work... I have a universal notebook adapter with 2-pin, and the spare 65W adapter 2-pin that will come with my T410. With all that, I think I'll be set..
Wow, so I'll have 5 compatible AC adapters for a single laptop! Phew! -
