I received my refurbished T61p via Lenovo Outlet about 2 days ago and so far I've had no problems.
2.4ghz T7700 core2duo
4gb RAM
200GB 7200 RPM
Intel Turbo Cache
The rest of the specs are either standard or irrelevant to the problems I was concerned about possibly experiencing, namely the crashes that people have been experiencing while gaming on a T61p with two DIMMS. I wouldn't say that I've done extensive testing, but I just played Portal for about half an hour without any problems. I've tested out several other games, but not for very long time periods. So far Portal has been the longest. I've loaded up a few other Source games but played them for less time. I've also played the CoD4 demo for about 15 minutes without any problems.
I don't know if this definitively means I am in the clear, but it's at least a good sign thus far.
I didn't know what to expect with a refurb. I knew it could have been as little as this machine was turned on once or as worse as a major hardware failure was fixed. I knew it may or may not have some physical blemishes. But, I am pleased to say that there are no blemishes. I may never know the extent of it's previous use or even damage, but so far things are quite well. I hope they stay that way. :knocks on wood:
EDIT: I thought I would mention I'm using the modded 8600gt drivers, for anyone wondering. They are the newest ones, that start with a 7 (sorry can't remember the exact build number, but that should be enough info since there are only two modded drivers right now.)
