Received my shiny new S12 ION from UPS today. Have been cruising various messageboards reading about how I should install the new nvidia 195.62 drivers on the S12 ION to improve it's performance. When I try to install the 195.62 drivers, I get the following message:

"The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware."

    - Yes, I am sure I have the correct ION 195.62 drivers from the official nvidia website

    - Yes, I am sure my S12 is an Nvidia ION.

Can the 195.62 drivers from the nvidia website be installed on the S12 ION? If so, what am I doing wrong? If they cannot be installed, what are the best video drivers to use? I plan on playing quite a bit of World of Warcraft on my new S12 ION and I want to optimize it's gaming performance.

they are not approved by Loonovo. Warranty void if you use them.

As I said earlier, I did not install them (they didnt work), and I know for a fact that using the nvidia drivers does not void the warranty. I also know that others have successfully installed the 195.62 drivers because they bragged about using them.

Please, serious replies only. No one likes having their time wasted.

This sounds like a packaging issue for that notebook package. You indicated in another thread that the desktop 195.62 driver package *does* support your ION, so it sounds like the ION device ID is just missing from the notebook driver. You should be fine using the desktop driver if it supports your device ID.
