    1802 error on Lenovo R500

    I just got a Intel 5300 wlan card for my Lenovo R500 but i cant use it becasue i get the 1802. Is there anyway to bypass this on the R500? I saw a solution for the X200 guess it wont work for my R500.

    Is it a Lenovo card or a generic? That could be part of the problem.

    What you need is a modified BIOS to accept generic wireless card.

    If it's a Lenovo card, there is no way this problem occurs. It is 100% a generic card.

    Thanks for the answers, sorry to say, i have no idea what "generic" covers? Anyone got a dictonary :)

    BUT the card is NOT from lenovo. There are no FRU number on it. Does that mean its generic?

    If yes, is there a guide for modding a bios? I saw Zender have helped a lot of people, but wont take up his time, if can do it myself.
