Hi
Thinking of upgrading the crucial 8GB ram on my X220 to 16GB and thinking of getting 2 x 8gb sticks of Corsair Vengeance ram. However Corsair do 2 versions - 8gb DDR3 1600mhz or 1800mhz. Both cost almost the same in UK, so should i go for the 1600mhz version or the 1800 mhz? My X220 has an i7 and was purchased in Nov 2011.
Cheers

Your X220 doesn't support 1866 MHz RAM, so no point in getting those really.

Thanks, according to this thread it appears the X220 doesn't even support 1600mhz on bios versions 1.29 or greater...apparently it supports a maximum of 1333mhz. Is this correct?

I have the vengeance 1600, used to to get the 1600 speed but went back to 1333 after bios upgrade!

16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM for X220 - buy 1600 MHz or 1800 Mhz?
