    Hi
Thinking of upgrading the crucial 8GB ram on my X220 to 16GB and thinking of getting 2 x 8gb sticks of Corsair Vengeance ram. However Corsair do 2 versions - 8gb DDR3 1600mhz or 1800mhz. Both cost almost the same in UK, so should i go for the 1600mhz version or the 1800 mhz? My X220 has an i7 and was purchased in Nov 2011.
    Cheers

Your X220 doesn't support 1866 MHz RAM, so no point in getting those really.

Thanks, according to this thread it appears the X220 doesn't even support 1600mhz on bios versions 1.29 or greater...apparently it supports a maximum of 1333mhz. Is this correct?

Thanks, is it worth rolling back the bios from 1.38 to 1.28 to get an increase of 300mhz ram speed or do the gains made by being on the latest bios version outweigh any ram speed increases?
