    Hello!

I'm considering upgrading my RAM to 16 GB. The main reason is I'm getting into developing with Unity and might make a step into 3DSmax. I mainly use it for programming, gaming, school and extracting files (ranging from 4 GB to 15GB). I do video editing for fun once in a while, nothing too heavy though, because I'm really not that good atm. :p

My specs are in my signature :)

    Thank You

For the fairly low prices to get 16Gb, I'd say go for it. I have 16Gb because I run a couple of VM's, but have still only hit ~8Gb used!

Nothing wrong here with just 8gb. 4gb assigned to VMs when they're running VS2012 for W8/WP8 dev, etc. Unity doesn't even require 16gb and can run fine on 4gb systems. Only real benefit would be simultaneous multitasking of several VMs/dev/3D tools at the same time.

    Ahhhh ok :)

Oh, how about extracting large zip files? Would it benefit? I sometimes unzip files over 10 GB.
