Both of those are really personal preferences. I personally would prefer 14", but that's me.

The 15.4 over 14.1 difference is over a pound in weight. If you travel a lot, and I mean a lot, then you will appreciate the 14.1. My best friend travels around the world with IBM Consulting Services, and she got a T60p 15." from work, but she says it's too heavy for traveling through airports and lugging every place you have to work. If you're only moving it once or twice a day in a car, then you can probably go with the heavier. Also, the 15" goes through batteries faster. Last thing is that I've seen the high resolution 15" that is NOT widescreen, and I think it's retarded. I cannot comprehend why there is so much vertical space. I have a Dell 22"WS LCD, and Sharp Aquos 45" LCD TV. Can't go back to 4:3. Sorry.

One thing you can try is purchasing a laptop from a retailer with a good return policy, like costco, and try lugging it around for a week, and see how you then feel. I lug around in my car, so weight's not really an issue for me.
