I checked my new 15.4 T61p in PC Wizard today, and it says my Samsung LCD was manufactured in 2005. (As seen in the bottom panel when you click on Monitor Type under the Video section). Even the product ID has IBM in it. I'm ok with how it looks, but is this normal? I didn't get some "refurbished" or old screen, did I?

My 14.1" T61p said something like September 2007 and had Lenovo (or an abbreviation) in the Product ID...

Mine says 2005 with IBM id also ( LG-Phillips). Not sure what to make of it. But it looks fine. But you're right it wouldn't be very nice to get a refurbished screeneven if it looked ok.
