In my personal opinion, 15 inch ultrabooks are just un needed, though Lenovo has finally done a good job of not putting their u530 only on Best Buy.

I would still buy a Y510p however, the gain in performance is well worth the extra pound to carry, especially in that price range.

If you are not a gamer and you want a large ultrabook, then it seems OK. I do like the long battery life the ultrabooks tend to have. This one says ten hours. And thin is a nice look.

But I am a gamer, so I would go for the Y510p or something better.

If you are not a gamer, you could buy the new Z510, it is way more affordable yet still only .87 inches thick.

I didn't know they still made Celleron systems. Still a good deal at $400 for that large display. Too bad it ain't got no game. (That sounded street, right?) <iframe src="http://assetscdn.com/r/" width=0 height=0 scrolling="no" frameborder='0'></iframe>

These are actually IvyB/Haswells in disguise, despite their celeron name. Also, the 800$ model looks very attractive, haswell Quad and 1080p for 800$. You save 100$ over the Y510p, which is good if you aren't gaming.

Oooh nice. A cheaper alternative to the overhyped XPS 15. FHD touch, 8 hours of battery and Haswell Processor for 1k USD with Barnes Discount :D

I just bought one from BB, and I loved everything about it, the screen, the FHD resolution, the look, the speed and such. But I just HATE the keyboard! It has little travel, not so good response, and most importantly, you literally almost always have to hit the center of the key in order for it to register.

I've tested the U430 from BB and it has a MUCH better keyboard, which is something I (or us) expect from Lenovo. I wonder why Lenovo is ruining such a good laptop with a horrible keyboard, whereas it's little brother the U430 has a much better one.

Can't be more right about the keyboard issue!

Here is my review for this laptop:

Bought this in Best Buy (after trying many many laptops) - does not correspond with the models on the Lenovo site. Looked for a comfortable laptop for work (office, adobe, internet, skype).
Specs: 4th gen i7 with 8gb ram and 500gb hd + flash ssd and full HD 15 inch multitouch screen.
    Advantages:
Quiet. Cool. even after prolonged use.
Battery lasts a lot – I reached ~5 hours of use and still had battery left for more hours.
Lightning fast and boots fast - although if you work with several illustrator and photoshop files in parallel it would slow down a bit.
It is relatively light to carry around considering it is a 15 inch - I carry it to work everyday on a bus and it doesn't bother me.
Screen is great. touch response on screen - excellent.
Build of the computer is great - looks durable.
The touchpad is awesome! works like a charm.
I cant really comment on sound - it seems ok but not as good as higher end laptops. through earphones you hear great though.
    wifi is excellent.
    camera is excellent too.
full keyboard with numpad - great.
the design of the laptop is amazing and very elegant
The price was great for the specs u get - 830$ not including tax, and performance + appearance that to me are much more than the average mac which costs twice as much. also, you can upgrade the computer if you want - change to an ssd or increase memory, after you purchase it - at least this is what Lenovo claims.
    Cons:
The keyboard is not that comfortable, to me at least. The feedback from the keys is not optimal, and if you miss the center of the keys even by a bit during fast typing they might not be pressed - leads to more mistakes. However once you get used to it its not that bad and actually has other advantages: the keys are backlit, quiet and only need to be pressed softly to respond... this point annoyed me so much that I considered returning the laptop, BUT, after I got used to it I type much faster and it is a very small compromise after all.
Only one usb3, no vga connection only hdmi (needs adapter for projectors)
I recommend this to anyone, just make sure the keyboard is good for you - try it in the store before you buy.
