I am running a 14.4 Thinkpad T61 with T7700, 4GB RAM. I had a 100 GB Hitachi 7k100 primary, and at the moment I have a 200 GB Hitachi 7k200 primary. The machine is noticably more responsive with the 7k200.

Unfortunately, it will require me to reactivate to keep this drive as the primary.

Does your 7200 drive generate a lot of heat? I have a Seagate 7k100 and my right palm gets sweaty pretty quickly.

    Not at all.

    My 100GB 7k100 didn't get hot either.
