    14" N100 - Very shaky CD drive

    So when the cd-rom in this thing spins up, the entire laptop is basically vibrating.

    Anyone else experienced this with the lenovos? Or is this unit bad maybe?

    I just got it 2 days ago so I'm not really sure what is "normal" yet.

    To get an idea of the vibration, it's like making my fingertips numb on the keys vibration.

    I am not getting mine til Monday or so and I don't think anyone else here has a 14" yet. Is it the combo drive or the DVD-rw drive? If you get some time, do you think you could post a review of it here in the forums?

    Yea a review would be very nice because the N100 is at the top of my list. I think the dvd drive is a problem with your particular unit. I think this because the N100 was reviewed by cnet and pcmag and they did not say anything about this vibration. And we know how picky they are!

    It can also be as simple as the CD not being balanced. Some CDs (depending on build and art work) will vibrate more than others.

    N100 review here. I did notice the drive being a bit noisy on occassion.

    Thanks for the info and the review but I think a lot of us are waiting for a review and pictures of the 14 inch version since they seem to only be sending out 15.4" models to people for reviews, or that is all people have reviewed.

    I haven't seen any 14" reviews, but would imagine it is the same drive.
