I was wondering what does a Stock Warranty cover? and also say if the Hard Drive goes before the Warranty is up, is it gonna cost me any kind of money to replace the hard drive? and can I extend when it's up?

    Cheers.

Will it cost me any money? Since it's a limited warranty.

No, unless if it's through fault of yours. Let's say your laptop gets wet. This wouldn't be covered. The warranty covers hardware that fails through no fault of yours. The only money you have to pay is to maybe ship the computer to them. Everything else will be covered by them.

u can usually extend the warranty before it expires but i beleive its cheaper to do it upfront. check with sales.

The limited portion means exemptions due to fault or misuse (e.g. water, dropping it out a window, etc.).

If you have any trouble with a part you simply call up support and explain it to them.

If the fix is a CRU (customer replaceable unit) they will overnight you the appropriate part (e.g. HDD, Battery, RAM, etc.). You will then install the replacement yourself (shouldn't take more than five minutes), drop the defective part in the box, apply the prepaid shipping label, and drop off the defective part at a UPS store.

If the problem is more severe (e.g. bad mobo or defective LCD) you will be shipped a box for your computer. This will include a prepaid shipping label. You'll then send them your computer and wait for them to fix it. They'll then send the fixed machine back to you. The turnaround on this process should be about a week (assuming the replacement parts are in stock).

You can extend the warranty. I believe there is also a grace period after your warranty expires in which you can still extend, but I believe the price is higher.

However, they have some really good deals on accidental damage warranties right now. I got two years depot w/ accidental damage for $69, which is practically nothing. Normally it's $199. Unfortunately the three year is the normal $279, which doesn't make much sense since four years is $229.

Besides the options which are regular price, they're giving away accidental damage for free. Not a bad deal at all. It's always cheaper to buy the warranty up front, but now there's really no reason to wait if you can at all afford it.

u should get the accidental damage. btw, that's the most likely damage rather than outright hardware failure with TPs. Also, buy with a CC, as they double the length of the waranty you buy.
