while I think readers will appreciate you taking the trouble to post comparisons shots ,at the least I think they should be done fairly using the same settings ie: in the last pic, judging from the the icons on the rightmost laptop, it would appear that settings were over bright and the contrast turned down.

I'll wait to see what the op says...but I do believe the LCD panels themself have different specs for brightness and whatnot. This may be an apples to apples comparison afterall...

    Sorry for late response.

Of course all the settings of those two laptops were same.
Highest Brightness. didn't touch any setting but the brightness.

    Original specs from TABook are
    14.1 WXGA+: 200 nits, 300:1 contrast ratio, anti-glare
    15.4 SWXGA+: 200 nits, 500:1 constrast ratio, anti-glare

When I first noticed that the screen of my new T61p is Samsung, I was worried about it, because of it's notorious reputation.
    But, I'm satisfied with it.
At least it's better than my old T61 LCD (LG 14.1 WXGA+).

    Thank you.

Well I have the 14.1 LG and while in those pictures the samsung looks better, I'm very very happy with what I've got, and that's cool that the Samsung is still good.

What graphics do you have? nVidia or integrated

I have had hands on experience with the 15.4" Samsung and LG both system were nVidia graphics. I found that if you go into the nVidia control panel you have more brightness and contrast settings. If you turn the brightness all the way up in the nVidia control panel it really washes out the colors. I was really disappointed in my Samsung screen, but it looked it's best when the nVidia settings were left at default (brightness at 50%) and then setting the system brightness (Fn+Home) at max brightness. I now have an LG screen. It looks best at these settings as well.

I'm in the market for a mobile workstation and I'm leaning towards the T61P over the Dell m4300 and the HP 8510W.

I feel a little delflated over the switch to the Samsung screen from LG. Is there a large difference in screen brightness or quality?

I'm using an Inspiron 8600 currently (15.4" WSXGA) and I'm pleased with the brightness and contrast ratio.

How will it stack up against the Lenovo Samsung screen?

    Thank you!
