Ugh, so, did a clean restore on this Lenovo G555 today with an OEM disk of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 using the license on the laptop. Everything went great except for one driver that doesn't seem to be on Lenovo's site. There was one other guy I found via Google that had the same problem but it was never resolved.

It's listed as 'unknown device' in device manager.

    Hardware ID is ACPI\VPC2004

It appears to be something to do with the power management.

    Any ideas?

Have you try installing Lenovo's power management software.

    Tinderbox, I'll try that download.

k2001, I have not. I downloaded and extracted it & pointed device manager to the folder but it did not find the driver. Think I need to install the software and it will install the driver? I hate having any extra software that I don't need on here!
