Today, I was looking at the W500 to configure it here, and I had always only seen one graphics option, but today, I saw another option: AMD M86GL Switchable Graphics 512MB - Non-AMD... for a cool $9,254.00  !

I had always thought that the W500 always had switchable graphics. Does this mean that the normal GPU, the ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 with 512MB VRAM, does not, or is this simply a strange glitch?

There is some information on this thread. But apparently, that huge cost must be something of a typo.

No, the W500 is still switchable. That's one of many Lenovo typos.

If it's any consolation, for a few days last week, some of the Canadian purchase plan sites were advertising W500 and W700 models starting at the low, low price of about $950,000. And up to a still very reasonable $1.5M. Oops.

What the hell is wrong with Lenovo? April Fool was a while ago... maybe they are being massively hacked?

I am convinced they are changing something. Too many errors in same area to be a mistake.

I wonder what would happen if somebody actually placed the order for the laptop at 1.5 million.

    Would Lenovo reimburse the person?

I wish I took a few grabs. The prices I got were like 10x higher than that! :)

To think that I just payed over a million on my W series. I guess that I really over paid when I could have gotten for $10 000. Hilarious error I have to admit though. :D

But you saved $824! Think of the laptop bag you could buy with that! You might even have enough money left over to buy a spare tablet pen and a milkshake!
