They are both fine. Better battery life on the T40.

The T40 will be faster, better equipped, better built and costs the same. I see no reason to go for the other one.

The T40 is still warrantied until Nov. 06
    I think!Battery life isn't a factor tho.It'll be a DTR.I'am disabled,and never go anywhere!!I'am just wanting a quaility lappy.
Zazonz, has always been very reliable. And if he recommends a thinkpad.Well,I'am buy a thinkpad!!
At first I was going with a Dell Inspiron 6000.But,I've been informed by other member's.That the Thinkpads are way,way better built notebooks!!

    I've also considered the G41
    celeron D 320 2.4GHz
    14.1' 128MB DDR SDRAM 30GB HDD
    CD-ROM
    Windows XP Home
Yeah I know that celeron D's battery life isn't nothing. But it'll have the power of a desktop tho!!

That T40 will blow the G41 that you're looking at out of the water.

    A 1.5GHz Pentium M performs between a 2.4GHz P4 and a 2.8GHz P4. You're looking at a 2.4GHz CELERON, which is a lot worse than a 2.4 P4 when it comes to performance.

You can't watch DVDs with this R50e model. It only comes with CD-ROM. You will need to upgrade to a DVD-ROM or combo drive.
