    How do i surf the internet if i have a notebook with built in wireless? I have time warner cable at home, so i plugged my desk top modem on to my note book but i still can't get on-line

    You can run wireless if you have a wireless router. If you plug an ethernet cable from your modem to your notebook, then that is a wired connection. I'm not sure what you mean by your "desktop modem" though.

    You will need a wireless modem (at your home) or find a site (buisness) that provides a wireless access point, such as Starbucks or other local coffee houses.

    Do you mean, you plugged in a ethernet cable from your cable modem to your laptop?
