    what is ok temp for cpu and hdd?

    hi my cpu sits around 50 - 55c and hdd 45 - 50. is this ok or too hot for a laptop being like this all day?

    Cpu temps:

    Idle should be below 50C, the lower the better. Under load should be 70C or lower, again the lower the better.

    HDD temps:

    I believe around 45C is normal and ok, I'd be worried if it got too much higher than that.

    That doesn't seem too bad. It depends on your notebook and some other factors (like outside temperatures).
    Have a look at Chaz's Guide to Cooling Down Your Notebook Computer for some tips on how to decrease your temperatures.

    Harddrives perform better and last longer when they run cooler. Prop up your laptop a bit so air can get under it.

    My 125watt consuming Opteron 185 peaks at 51C in my U709 when the fans are on full blast. 2 harddrives in raid 0 array peaks at 130F.
