What harddrive would be better for performance..
My laptop has currently the OCZ-Vertex as primary drive on Win 7, and I want to install games on another harddrive. Non-stuttering is more important than capcity...

Here are the hd's I have.. to install the games on.. which one would be best??

Maxtor 's 160gb black armor via usb 2.0.
320GB 5400 RPM Samsung via sata
    120gb Supertalent SSD ( 120/40 read write , 0.5 seek ) via sata..
(the ssd is choppy sometimes?? it's one of those jmicron ones ).
-i think the smart bays on m15x is sata.

games would be of all kinds.. wow , cod4/5 , gears of war, crysis, crysis warhead, devilmaycry4 etc..

    thaanks.

I would pick the 320GB 5,400RPM Samsung via SATA. That Maxtor USB HDD external enclosure is ran off USB, so you're looking at slower map loading speeds. You said you can detect choppiness with the SSD you have (and made it clear that you didn't want a stuttering gaming experience), so to me, the choice is obvious. Go with the 5,400RPM Samsung HDD.

So sata on smartbay probably wasn't the best idea..

It works for some games.. but for others.. ( one's needing original disc..) it doesn't work :/.. cause i can't fit the smartbay cd drive in when the harddrive is there already.. lols :S
