    Hi,
Has anyone put in 4G in a vostro 1700 notebook? I have the t7700 cpu and I bought GEIL brand 2x2G paired memory and even my second pair is having problems. I rma'ed the first pair and they verified that it had errors but now they're saying the new pair has been tested for 2 days and it should have no errors.

If any 4G upgrade worked for anyone, what was the brand?

    thanks.

OK, What OS? How do your problems demonstrate themselves?

i have vista ultimate 64 which i upgraded myself.
the problem is initial memory checking. if i plug in the sticks in one order (slot a, slot b) i get memory error during the built-in memory testing. if i plug them in the other order, the notebook doesn't even boot with blue capslock led flashing.
