I bought a new larger hdd 250gb for more space, currently have 80gb drive in laptop. My computer is vista ultimate. I would like to have some advice on if I can just image the system and put in the new hdd and run the image. I would like to not have to re-install all software and info individually. I have a presario c501nr 2gb ram, sata 80gb hdd, and an external wd my book 500gb. I purchased a 2.5 wd scorpio 250gb hdd that I'd like to put in. Thanks in advance for any help. new to posting on this forum so if any has been covered.....

Use the trial version of Acronis to clone the drive and transfer it to your new one.

Yes, but I wouldn't trust a backup utility from MS.

The MS complete computer backup included with ultimate works really well. I have used it and had no problems at all.
