say if a laptop has a gl40 chipset.... the chipset specs by intel states that it supports core 2 duos, pentium, and celeron processors based on the 45nm process. it says that it also supports a max. 667mhz fsb.
Does this mean all laptops with a gl40 chipset support all of these processors and a 667mhz fsb?
Would one of those cpus but based on 65nm process be supported?
Would one of those cpus but with less than a 667mhz fsb be supported?

    thanks

Probably as you say yes! Lower fsb is fine, but not any higher than supported! And 65nm with 667FSB or 533FSB for example should work like a charm aslong as you get one with right type of socket!
