    so im in the process of picking a laptop for my mom.just basic web surfing and computing needs. so far ive boiled it down between this two.

    the price is about the same.same spec.only difference i can tell is the model type which is the DV series and G series..what i dont get is how the cheaper one have more ram in it.

    Err is this thread in the right section?

    In any case, I'd take the DV5 series over a Gxx notebook. Gxx are infamous for bad cooling design, overall cheapness.

    both have same specs but i'd choose pavilion.. simply because its more reliable due to not being extreme low end brand like G series.
