Check out my t2400 readings... are they normal? Windows and NHC both say the cpu is a Pentium-M, and the NHC description is: x86 family 6 model 14 stepping 4 which I couldn't seem to find on the net. CPU-Z doesn't say "Genuine Intel" like i've seen for other Core Duos, but instead calls it an: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M CPU

Before I installed it, I checked out the code on the CPU and it did not recognize on Intel's site as a core duo or Pentium M. I looked into it further, and found some other people with similar codes had unlocked engineering models, maybe I just have a previous version of the Core Duos that registers as a Pentium m? I cannot seem to adjust the CPU multiplyer in NHC like I could before.
    My laptop is an S96J.

Here is a pic of CPU-Z, Windows, and NHC

I would suggest downloading an earlier verison of CPU-Z and see what that says. Also do a Windows update.

I tried both, but the results are still the same. Even the Bios shows the CPU as a Pentium M 000 for some reason. Any ideas?

In that case I would advise finding a BIOS update for your notebook. It should be recognized as a Core Duo then.

I have the latest bios - I flashed it as soon as I got the notebook. My other Core Duo t2300 shows up as a core duo, so I believe that this cpu is different somehow. Does anybody else have a Core Duo without a code like sl8vr or sl8vq on the CPU? All mine says where that code usually is located is 000.
Is there a utility that I can use to check if the CPU is unlocked or not? NHC cannot change the multiplier for some reason.

It's possible that you got an engineering sample or some dodgy processor somehow. Where did you get the CPU?

I got it on ebay - the seller sent it as a replacement for a t2300 with a broken pin (which I was able to get to work by dropping the pin in the hole). I haven't sent back the t2300 yet, so if this cpu is worse, I can always put that back in, although I'd rather not.

Super pi to 2m takes 1:26 sec - a little longer than normal for a t2400? Does memory affect Super Pi times at all or is it all CPU?
I haven't noticed any significant differences in battery time or performance from the t2300. Are there any other differences in my CPU-Z readout than normal?

I have a 1.83 ghz Core duo with 1:22 sec, so that seems normal (I disabled most background services and programs when I did this however).
