Theres been a lot of talk about which is the better future proof technology to go with at the moment, Dual Core or 64-bit.

I was planning on going with dual core as I will see the benefits immediately and will probaly not need to use 4GB of RAM on a laptop anyway.

But I was thinking, is it possible that the fastest Turion 64 can feel as fast as the Dual Core T2300? I dont know the benchmarks, but if thats the case then i will gladly get a fast Turion 64 (ML-40 i think?) than the core duo. I know it wont have the advantage in multithreaded apps but for multi-tasking will it still feel as fast and responsive?

    What does everyone think?

No apps are made specifically for Core Duo, too. Few, if any applications will take advantage of the second core. Yet, we have WinXP 64 bit and expect Vista 64 bit soon.
If I was to buy a computer now, I would take the fastest Turion. The Core Duo technology is still in its early period, IMO. The Turion will not lag in multitasking.
Yet, have in mind that Turion X2 is coming in May. You may want to wait another month.
