You should check out Sony's website first.
Here is a link to the drivers you need:
    http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNSR140EB&LOC=3

Make sure you go to the pulldown menu and select Windows XP as the operating system

The file you are looking for is this one:
"Intel® SATA Driver - Copies the Intel SATA Driver for Microsoft® Windows® XP Operating System to a floppy disk. See more.."
It is the tenth file from the top.
DOwnload the file and install it on a bootable usb floppy drive.
You need to create a MS-DOS boot disc.
Than after the bootable ms-dos disc is made you can copy the sata file from sony's website onto the floppy, and than boot the machine.
When windows starts, you need to press F6 to boot the sata drivers from thee floppy.

If you do not have a usb floppy driver, you can download the sata driver, and use "nlite" to slipstream the sata driver into the operating system disc.

I do not know how to slipstream files, as I use a bootable floppy drive, so hopefully someone else can help you there.

Every system has its own chipset and driver. Your's is probably the GM45 ?

Extract this folder, and slipstream the whole folder, and all the files in it. (for 32-Bit OS)

And did you slipstream SP3 manually ?

You do not need to press F6. Once the driver is slipstream as text-mode, just install normally, as the driver will be installed automatically when the drivers are loaded at the beginning of the XP install.

Follow the images here, and slipstream the driver. When you will select the folder for integration, you will get an option to slipstream as Text-Mode or PnP, select Text-Mode.

    Selected "Bootable ISO" ?
    nlite5.png

If not, initiate the installation/setup in windows, and then restart.
