I need to replace a 16" lcd screen in an acer aspire 6530-6522. It currently uses a Samsung LTN160HT-A02. It has a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution, and are very expensive. I found another item that the seller says will work, but it is just a WXGA type. This laptop is not used for gaming, and my client just wants it fixed cheap, as his kids cracked the screen. I have not replaced a screen before, and just want to know if it will work. I know the resolution will be 1366 x 768 on the item I am looking at. Thanks

Does the client want the same resolution as before, or does he not care? He may be using it for things that are better with a higher resolution, such as CAD, etc.

A simple Google search for Acer Aspire 6530 Disassembly brought up the following:

Without knowing much about the other screen it's kind of hard to say.

Original screen is Samsung LTN160HT-A02,WUXGA,using 1920 x 1220 resolution and the one I am looking to buy is a 16" WXGA screen

Screen : ACER ASPIRE 6530 LAPTOP LCD SCREEN 16" WXGA GLOSSY NEW

    Size : 16.0

    Resolution : WXGA (1366 x 768 Pixels)

Condition : Brand New, Direct from manufacture 100% COMPATIBLE

This screen is 70.00 vs $200.00 for a WUXGA screen. My client is just using this laptop for general purpose--no CAD or Gaming, mainly email and school function programs. He just wants it fixed to be able to see the screen.

What? The original is a 16:10, and the new one is a 16:9? I'm guessing the second one will require you to get a new bezel, if it does fit...

If you're buying this on eBay, they tend to be of low quality in my experience. Direct from the manufacturer doesn't mean from Acer.

There are 2 types of screens used in this model.
This is the Field Replaceble Unit listing from the service guide
    The part number is underlined

LCD SAMSUNG 16" WXGA Glare LTN160AT01-A01 LF
    220nit 8ms 600:1 60%, 16:9
    LK.16006.001

LCD SAMSUNG 16" WXGA Glare LTN160AT01-A02 LF
    220nit 8ms
    LK.16006.003

Just google the part number on ebay you will never go wrong with the part number.
