I won't even be close I imagine. I realize that it isn't the best indicator, but what does the desktop card score in 3DMark06?

A quick Google search suggests that the 6800GT does between 2K and 2.5K and that the X4500 does just under 1K. So the 6800GT is a bit more than twice as fast.

It'll be worse, I'd imagine. The 6800GT gets, I'm guessing, ~2000 on 3DMark06? The 4500 is integrated, and just might ekk out ~1000.

I would imagine that the 6800GT is at least 5x better in gaming performance than the integrated solution.

To match performance, you should look for a laptop with a 8400GS or better graphics card.

The 6800 is going to be better all around no question about that. The intel 4500 might have the edge when it comes to video playback, however comparing 3Dmark 2006 scores especially with intel gpu's can be problematic. A good example would be if the 4500 scored higher in 3Dmark 2006 than for example the Nvidia 8200M G yet when you go play an actual game the nvidia card will do better.

3Dmark and games are two different things so its not always a direct comparison.

Going by the info available on sites, 6800 should be waaaay better than 4500MHD. I also have 4500 MHD on my notebook but I've not used it for gaming (and going through the forum makes me realize that it's not good enough for new games).
