l have just brought a second hand notebook, but sometime it cannot boot normally, it just do the loop and keep coming back to the windows ME boot up menu with 4 options, three of which is normal, safe mode and booting it step by step, l dont remember the last one now, and it never enter normal or safe mode, if l leave it for a while, it can boot normally, this situation only happens once ina while but still very annoying, it say it is because it didnt finish loading the windows last time, but it never happens, so what cause this problem? should l just return it?

p.s: what is the minimum cpu speed and ram to watch a dvd movie in a notebook smoothly, without running other programmes at the same time, just like a dvd player? and what software can be used to play dvd movies besides powerdvd?

If you really like the laptop, please upgrade the OS to something better than Windows ME (I know that doesn't narrow it down but at least consider Windows 2000 if your system can handle it).

VLC is free and can play DVD.

DVD movie should be fine on anything faster than a P3-600. I watched plenty on P3-600 and faster.
