Great notebook choice! Read my review here :D

I've been thinking the same thing, since I wanted a TV tuner but didn't want to spend the insane amount of $230 or whatever they ask. Another thing is that the USA is finally switching over to Digital Media Broadcasting in 2009. So you'll want a both analog and digital TV tuner. This is one that looks reeeeeeal nice, and has: HD TV tuner, analog (normal) TV tuner, FM tuner, video capture device, and some other random stuff thrown in there.

EDIT: Be warned, that tuner is for XP Media and Vista Home Premium/Vista Ultimate only. Least I think so.

for the same price and slightly bigger you can get a better one that has ATSC/NTSC/FM and MPEG2 decoder built in. (see Accessories forum)

The Pinnacle HDTV tuner is a good option, but is rather pricey.

Hauppauge also makes good TV tuners.
