    what are the normal temperature of the components of laptops while idle
    I own a acer laptop with core2duo proccy and nvidia 9300GS gfx card
    The Temperature as per everst ultimate edition are
    Sensor Properties:
    Sensor Type CPU, HDD, ACPI
    GPU Sensor Type Diode (NV-Diode)

    Temperatures:
    CPU 46 °C (115 °F)
    CPU #1 / Core #1 46 °C (115 °F)
    CPU #1 / Core #2 45 °C (113 °F)
    GPU Diode 48 °C (118 °F)
    Hitachi HTS543232L9A300 42 °C (108 °F)

    Voltage Values:
    CPU Core 1.16 V

    Are these tempertures normal while light usage like browsing or watching videos on the laptop
    sometimes these temperature go around 49~50 degree range

    Those temperatures are completely reasonable and fine.

    its summer over here and room temperature can go up to 35°C ~ 40°C with out a fan or AC
    the laptop is actually slightly lifted off from table with a book that is allowing some air circulation below the surface of the lappy

    If the ambient temperature is that high, those temperatures are quite good, and definitely normal.

    what about the HDD temperature...
    sometimes my HDD temp comes to 45~50°C .Also the area around palm rest becomes hot on top and bottom even while light usage like browsing :(

    HTS543232L9A300 is rated for up to 55C.
    Are you already using the laptop on a flat surface? (like a table)

    The HDD danger temperature in that thread is too high.

    50°C is fine for a 2.5" HDD. Depending on the manufacturer the threshold is at 55 or 60°C. Iirc Hitachi specifies its drives to work up to 55°C.

    ATM the cpu is running at 45°C but he HDD is at 47°C
    HDD is getting hotter than the CPU :(

    That's not unusual. The heat pipes are designed to cool CPU and GPU, not HDD.
