Hi I plan to get an mSATA ssd for my new lenovo y570 and wanted to go over a few things in terms of the process since I've never done this before.
-First off, if there is any kind of guide laying around can I have a link?
-Is the process just put the chip in, screw it in and add windows/drivers/software to it?
-After installing Windows/drivers/software to the mSATA what do I do with the original hard drive? (Leave it? wipe it?)
-Will the laptop automatically start booting from the mSATA or is there some setting I have to change to do it?
-Are there any drives missing from here that I may need?
-Are there any options/setting recommended for optimizing the ssd's performance?
    -Does this void warranty?

    Thanks

Its as simple as screw it in, and use the restore disks... I removed my hdd while i did the restore so it would creat it as a rapid drive (hd and ssd combined as one) after I restores it, I inserted the hdd again and wiped it from within win 7.

You have to creat the restore disk with the lenovo one key restore.

    Thanks,

Do you know if I can use an external hard drive to do the one key restore or does it need to be dvds?

Didn't try it that way... I burned the disks as it only took 2 DVD's

I'm still debating doing a clean install in order to recover the 14GB's of space that the restore partition takes.

    Question:

Does Lenovo Rapid Drive keep anything on the SSD once the SSD and hard drive is merged or does Rapid Drive only use the SSD for caching like Intel SRT?
