So I've been looking at the speeds of mSATA connections and found out most of them are sata 3.0 speeds. Are there any laptops that support the sata 6.0 connection speeds yet? When doing build outs on various laptops like MSI, Clevo and ASUS they show ssd drives that have sata 6.0 speeds. Seems like a waste of a ssd that can only utilize sata 3.0 connections.

    SATA III = 6GB/s
    SATA II = 3GB/s

Intel's series 6 and series 7 chipsets allow only 2 SATA III 6GB/s connections.

The MSI GT70/GT60 Super Raid Models have an adapter in the primary drive position that takes 2 mSATA SSDs and is capable of SATA III 6GB/s speeds. They can be used as single drives or setup in a raid0 array. The secondary internal SATA drive bay is only SATA II 3GB/s

GT60 Super Raid models are not offered in the US.

The MSI GE70 and GE60 models have 1 internal SATA III 6GB/s mSATA slot and 1 internal SATA III 6GB/s drive bay for 2.5" drives.

The optical drive bays are SATA II

My Vostro 3460 has a SATA III mSATA, so I presume all of the Vostro 3x60 series are the same.

To my knowledge, the only consumer laptop I've encountered that has 2 SATA III ports (one of which is mSATA) is the Sony Vaio T 13.3 inch ultrabook. Even then, its only the model that comes with a HDD since the 2.5inch bay is electrically disabled for some reason on the models that come preloaded with an mSATA drive.

Note to self: stay away from Acer S7 (and possibly future) models. (Proprietary sucks).

I have never bought anything from Acer and don't intend to.

The only thing that interested me is the mSATA SSD form factor from Lite-On-I that I haven't seen before and thought I'd share.

    The 4K writes look good.

I don't have a problem with Acer - just with 'proprietary'.

And those 'scores' don't look so good to me (just not balanced by a long shot).
